Meet our Veterinarians
The Animal Adoption Veterinary Center brings to you and your best friends some of New York's most experienced veterinarians. Our 9 veterinarian staff consists of 3 clinician veterinarians who provide examinations, 3 surgeon veterinarians who perform almost every type of surgery, and 3 sonogram specialist veterinarians. Their combined experience and knowledge provide us the capability to provide FULL services at low prices. We are one of only a handful of veterinary hospitals in New York City which are full service. Dr. Rodwell Rillen
A graduate of Tuskegee University School of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Rillen has been practicing for over twenty five years. His experience includes many years at shelter medicine. Dr. Rillen sees patients on Tuesdays and Sundays at the Low Cost Vet Mobile.
Dr. Linden Dodson
A graduate of Tuskegee University School of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Dodson has been practicing for over thirty years. He has been a professor of anatomy at a major New York Nursing School. Dr. Dodson brings his advanced surgical skills and vast experience to the AAVC. Dr. Dodson performs many specialized surgeries for which usually require a board certified surgeon, thereby keeping prices low for even the most expensive surgeries.
Dr. Dennis Herstein
A graduate of Cornell University School of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Herstein has been practicing for forty seven years. Dr. Herstein is our most experienced clinician and works every Wednesday and Friday and substitutes when one of our clinician veterinarians is on vacation or need to take a day off.
Dr. Roopnarine Balkaran
With over twenty years of surgical expertise Dr. Balkaran performs the majority of surgeries at the Low Cost Vet Mobile, including many specialized surgeries which usually require a board certified surgeon, thereby keeping prices low for even the most expensive surgeries.
Dr. Ashraf Hussein
A graduate of Cairo University School of Veterinary Medicine, before obtaining his New York State Veterinary license Dr. Hussein was a New York State Licensed Veterinary Technician. He has had extensive emergency medicine experience at New York city emergency centers. Dr. Hussein works Saturdays at the Low Cost Vet Mobile and performs all our dental surgeries and other surgeries.
Dr. Steve Konstalid
A graduate of Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Konstalid specializes in performing ultrasounds and echocardiograms at the Vet Mobile. He generally performs them Thursdays at our Queens location in Fresh Meadows location.
Dr. S. Anthony Kahn
Dr. Kahn is a graduate of Tufts University School of veterinary medicine. He is a board certified surgeon who performs specialized surgeries at the Animal Adoption Veterinary Center.
Dr. Carolyn Clarke
Dr. Clarke graduated from St. George's University Veterinary School, and has practiced at some of New York's most prestigious emergency hospitals. She performs abdominal ultrasounds at the AAVC.
Dr. Garett Coleman
Dr. Cloleman graduated from St. George's University Veterinary School, and has practiced for 14 years. He performs abdominal ultrasounds and echocardiograms at the AAVC.
